Draped

Draped is a glass and ceramic mosaic built on a handmade substrate of welded steel and screen. The glass is intentionally left with sharp edges, which creates a tension between the visual softness of the form that resembles fabric, and the hardness and danger of the materials. With antique hardware holding up the “fabric”, the piece also explores the way that everything new is supported by what came before.
